Advanced Dispatch – 200 hours
An operational module using professional software to create flight plans, analyze weather/NOTAMs, and run real-world simulations.
The complete training path to gain advanced knowledge in flight planning, meteorology, aircraft performance, and OCC procedures.
Perfect for getting started and truly understanding who a Flight Dispatcher is and what they do.
What does a Flight Dispatcher do?

Flight Planning
Weather Analysis
Flight Monitoring
Pilot Support
Calculates the optimal route by considering distances, winds, preferred routes, airspace restrictions, required fuel, and emergency alternatives.
Monitors weather conditions (current weather and forecasts) along the route and at departure, arrival, and alternate airports, assessing potential risks
Works closely with pilots and the airline's operations office, providing updates on operational changes, weather conditions, NOTAMs (flight notices), and other critical information.
After take-off, follows the flight in real time, supporting the crew in case of weather changes, emergencies, or operational needs (such as diversions or alternate landings).

Flight Dispatcher

Vlad Tiron
I am an aviation professional, curious and motivated to learn and share the knowledge I have gained.
I currently work in the AIM/ATM sector, handling Acceptance Testing and supporting air navigation service providers.
I previously coordinated flight operations at Aeroitalia, managing complex operational scenarios and OCC activities.
I combine technical skills, ICAO/EUROCONTROL regulatory knowledge, and a strong commitment to sharing what I have learned throughout my career.
Fabio Ceresani
A professional with over 30 years of experience in the aviation sector, specializing in Operations Control Center (OCC) activities, flight dispatch, and flight operations management in both national and international contexts.
He has held positions of responsibility within airlines and aviation operators, developing solid expertise in flight planning and monitoring, operational decision-making, and the management of complex operational scenarios. Particular attention has always been given to the human factor, teamwork, and process innovation.
Throughout his career, he has worked with organizations such as Alitalia, AMC / KMM Malta Airlines, Luxwing, Falcon Wings, and Airconsult, also contributing to projects involving technological transition and operational standardization.
He is actively involved as an instructor and trainer, with experience in CBTA, aviation meteorology, and human factors.
He uses professional software on a daily basis, including LIDO, PPS, ForeFlight, EUROCONTROL CHMI, A-CDM, and WSI Fusion.
He holds a university degree with a thesis focused on the development of the Flight Dispatcher role in Europe, is a PPL holder, and has served as a speaker at international industry conferences.
Curiosity, dedication, and creativity form the foundation of his approach to both aviation operations and training.

Andrea Bernardi
Commercial pilot with a frozen ATPL, currently undergoing training with a European airline.
Employed as a theoretical instructor for the training of professional pilots within the ATPL framework.
Completed his training path at Sunrise Aviation IT.ATO.0009, including airline pilot training, theoretical instructor qualification, and the APS/MCC course on the Airbus A320, gaining experience both in flight and on simulators, as well as solid teaching experience.
Mauro Ferri
Born in Rome in 1971, he has developed expertise through over 30 years of experience in the aeronautical field, both civil and military. He currently holds the position of Senior Flight Dispatcher at ITA Airways.
His career began with basic training at the F. De Pinedo Aeronautical Institute and continued within the Italian Air Force between 1991 and 1999, in the role of Aeronautical Construction Technical Assistant, as well as in an international environment as a CFE inspector from 1996.
Subsequently, also thanks to the experience gained as a private pilot and the numerous training courses attended, he successfully transferred his skills to the civil sector, obtaining the qualification of Flight Dispatcher in 1999 at Alitalia. Over time, he developed a solid understanding of the operational dynamics related to flight management within a medium-to-large commercial airline.
His professional activity includes, among other tasks, long-, medium-, and short-haul flight planning, SLOT/ATFM management, inflight monitoring, operational coordination, and direct communication with pilots and air traffic management/control authorities. At the same time, he has accumulated extensive experience as an instructor at Alitalia and ITA Airways, delivered numerous lectures at technical higher education institutes, and contributed to publications in collaboration with the publisher Aviolibri – IBN.
